Insecticide carbofuran, also known as furadan, is one of the most toxic carbamate pesticides. As a broad spectrum insecticide, it has contact and stomach poisoning. After absorbed by plant roots, it can be transported to various organs of the plant, especially leaf margin. For usage, this product can be used in a variety of pests in rice, cotton, tobacco, soybeans and other crops. In addition to that, it can be taken as seed treatment agent. For residue period, it is very long in soil but short for paddy field. So this product can't be used directly on consumed products such as vegetables, fruit and tea.

Because of its specific structure, insecticide carbofuran can irreversibly combine with cholinesterase so it is highly toxic to higher animals, such as birds. Specifically, acute oral LD50 for rats is 8 to 14 mg/kg, for dog the value is19 mg/kg. But this product is not toxic for bees. Due to high toxicity, it can't be used as spray or mixed together with swep. In the event of poisoning, atropine but rather pralidoxime should be used.
