Insecticide emamectin benzoate is a new type efficient semi-synthetic antibiotics pesticide synthesized from fermentation product of avermectin B1. It has low solubility in water and it is insoluble in hexane but soluble in acetone and methanol. This product has low toxicity and the preparation is nearly non-toxic agent. Besides that, it has characteristic of high efficiency, less residue and no pollution.

Compared with avermectins, insecticidal activity of insecticide emamectin benzoate increases by 1-3 orders magnitude and it has effects on lepidoptera larvae and many other insect pests and mites. Besides that, it has stomach and contact poisoning effects, and it is still efficient in very low doses, for example, 0.084 ~ 2g/ha. In addition to that, it doesn't pose threat to beneficial insects so it is pretty ideal for integrated control of pests. As well as that, it is highly secure for crops at the dose of 10 times of value. Because it can integrate closely with the soil, with no leaching, no accumulation and it can be transferred by translaminar, it can be easily be absorbed by crops and penetrated into the epidermis, thus long-term residual effect for spraying crops can be ensured.
