Insecticide methamidophos is less soluble in water and soluble in alcohols. And it has strong contact and stomach poisoning. Pure product is white needle-like crystal and the industrial product is colorless viscous liquid and needle-like crystal can be precipitated after cooling. Compared with malathion, it has a better prevention effect on aphids, mites, rice leafhoppers and planthoppers. Besides that, it is also suitable for control and prevention of soil pests such as bollworms, armyworms, yellow stem borer, rice leaffolder insects, mole crickets and grubs. As a broad-spectrum insecticide, it also has good poisoning effect on some drug-resistant pests. Its mechanism is to inhibit the activity of cholinesterase and result in neurophysiological dysfunction.

Because of high toxicity, insecticide methamidophos can't be used on short growing crops or food safety issues such as residue could emerge. For storage and transportation, it shall not be upside down or crashed and moisture-proof sunscreen and good ventilation should be ensured. It is strongly prohibited for touch with fire and mix with strong acid and alkaline pesticides. As well as that, the remaining drug should be placed in safe and cool place.
