Herbicide simazine, also known as 6-chloro-N, N'-diethyl-1, 3, 5-triazine-2, 4-diamine, is a selective systemic chemical and commonly used formulations are 50%, 80% WP and 40% colloidal suspension. As a relatively safe chemical, this product is low toxic to humans, fish and birds and it can be used for control of annual broadleaf weeds and some grass weeds. It has very low solubility in water and most organic solvents. For mechanism, this product can be conducted by crop roots. As well as that, its effect can last as long as 12 months. And it is harmful to stubble sensitive crops such as wheat, soybeans, rice and cruciferous vegetables. For sandy soil with high temperature and low organic matter content, the dosage can be very small, or else, it should be increased.
